The Brendan Hession Foundation

Welcome to the Brendan Hession Foundation website.  The Foundation was established in memory of Brendan James Hession, whose life of limitless possibilities was ended by meningococcal disease on March 17, 1997. He had just turned seventeen.

Brendan did not have to die. Meningococcal disease is vaccine preventable. Although the vaccine was not widely available or commonly administered in 1997, it is today. Vaccination is the only way to protect against the terrible and often deadly consequences of the disease.

In addition to raising vaccination awareness, the Foundation seeks to help meningitis survivors fully live their lives and realize their potential by offering academic scholarships.

All of this is done in Brendan’s memory. We will always be his advocate.
